Natural Selection

I believe that "survival of the good enough" is more of an accurate description of natural selection than "survival of the fittest". Natural selection is how an organism can survive in its environment because they have learned to adapt to the environment. This leads to producing more offspring. This also means that they mutate to be more successful in surviving in the environment. In the image that I have drawn are two butterflies one that is purple and one that is brown. The brown one has adapted to the environment to survive because it can blend into the background of things better than the purple one.

  1. Hi Alissa,
I like your example of the butterflies being more viable in their environment because of the color. I think its a simple way to understand natural selection. I wonder why you wrote 'survival of the good enough' is better than 'survival of the fittest. I wrote something different on my blog on how nature wants the best even if that doesn't mean the fittest. Would love to know your thought process!
